Teach HEP

Developing the best educators

As part of Haringey Education Partnership, TeachHEP works in synergy with the HEP Professional Development offer, to ensure your school is developing the best educators.

HEP is the delivery partner for University College London, offering the Early Career Teacher Programme (ECTP). As well as supporting teachers at the start of their careers, we offer a number of the National Professional Qualifications (NPQs).

ECTP Programme 2026-2027

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are entitled to a DfE funded two-year induction with a 10% timetable reduction in their first year of teaching and 5% in their second year. They are also entitled to a mentor and induction tutor who will offer support throughout.

HEP is proud to be a delivery partner for University College London Institute of Education (UCL IOE), one of the DfE approved providers of ECT programmes that run alongside this induction period.

Any mentor starting their mentor training in 26/27 will be enrolled on the ECTP mentor programme, which is now only one year long.

UCL SAFEGUARDING POLICY

For any safeguarding queries or concerns, please reach out to our Safeguarding Lead, Anne Etchells, at anne.etchells@haringeyeducationpartnership.co.uk.

“The UCL Institute of Education NPQSL was a very important stage in my career development. The reading material was excellent and the workshop sessions were lively and provocative. The school project that I organised gave me enormous insight into successful leadership. Completing an NPQSL gave me the confidence to apply for and be offered a senior leadership post. Highly recommended.”
